Default 7th ave. Closed (Tuesday evening)

Sorry for iPhone grammer. 7th ave is closed downtown. No ctrains getting through. Happened 40 mins ago and it's still a cluster fata. No shuttle buses; nobody knows where the trains are turning around.

Apparently a fire in a building is the cause.

BRT is running- thankfully.

The server room at Chinook Energy Inc. blew up in Scotia Center (7th floor).

Apparently there is water damage on floors 5 and 6 as well.

Sorry it was Chinook, edited post to reflect.

I don't believe anyone was but I'm not certain.

FWIW- the fire department was hauling in their big wet-vac about 8:15 last night. Walking through downtown trying to get to an open C-Train platform we saw them bringing it in.

Hopefully that means they were able to minimize the water damage.

I didn't realize this was posted last night. All seemed fine this morning.

As an IT guy that puts the company's equipment in a place where they have fire suppression that doesn't use water, I don't feel any sympathy whatsoever.

Remember that feeling when you're there gasping for oxygen in the server room floor when the halon flood activates. ;-)

Cohaagen! Give them the Air!

Nah, nobody uses Halon anymore. Inergen or FM200 are safe and effective.
