Driving my son to school this morning down some rutted streets. Saw a car coming towards me slightly on my side of the street so I had to move over. Anyway coming out of the rut I hit some ice, swerved and slid into the only friggin' power pole for thirty feet!

The van is in bad shape but we're ok, which is the main thing I guess....

Anyone else have any dings this winter?

That sucks man. I got through this winter unscathed but I did lose control making a right turn and spun out pretty badly. Avoided hitting anything though.

Glad you and mini-you are OK.

Had a near miss where I did a 180 on a slippery street. Other than that, nothing.

Sounds like the lack of simple snow plowing was the cause of your crash. There is no excuse for having ruts on the road when it has snowed like 2cms every other day this week. It seems like the city's primary means of snow removal is to wait for the weather to warm up.

I have been complaining about the poor snow removal for a couple years now. Looks like Jagger has become part of my group....

Glad to hear that you and your family are ok, Jagger.

This is in Red Deer but is on a fairly main drag. We have had more than 2cms here. It should have been plowed for sure though.

Had a couple whammos when I was a teenager, just young & careless...I'm much more calm now when I'm behind the wheel. 300% insurance hike will do that to ya.
