What's everyone listening to? I'm having trouble finding new music these days. Most of the stuff that I'm exposed to is Nickelback-alike stuff that, to me, is just cackrock, which already had its day in the sun in the 80s.
Just today I heard this song, "Pornstar Dancing" by My Darkest Hour (no idea who they are) and all I could think was how this is something Kroeger would write. Then, sure enough, I hear the Dooshking himself "sing" a verse in the song. And this is being played in heavy rotation on a prominent rock radio station. ARGHH!
Off the top of my head something I've liked recently is the song "Capable". I know nothing of KO but something tells me the rest of it won't be good. Not that I care, I won't expect good albums when I'm having a hard enough time finding singles.
I just found out about the Gorillaz 'Pastic Beach', it's been out for months and I'm kicking myself for just finding it now. Like all Gorillaz, it's a perfect for hanging out and having beers in the sun
MGMT's congratulations is really good and Coheed & Cambria's "Year of the black rainbow" is likely the only hard rock album I'll buy this year.
