Pacquiao likely to fight mayweather on march 13
Man, I am more of a UFC/MMA fan then a boxing fan, but I am totally stoked for this fight
http://www.tsn.ca/boxing/story/?id=301039
This match could put boxing back on the sporting map

Agreed. Boxing needs this match, and if it lives up to all the hype then boxing has a chance. I think boxing is a much better sport than MMA, but MMA (UFC in particular) does a way better job of marketing.

It won't matter unless they gain about 50 pounds and become heavyweights.

This fight will probably kill boxing actually. Pacquiao is one of the most exciting fighters ever and Mayweather is one of the most boring ever. If Mayweather runs, and that is likely since he is a chicken crap, this will be SUPER boring.

I think this will be one of the last big fights to take place in boxing. The sport is dead and even some heavyweights won't change that now that everyone's attention is on MMA, as it should be.
Pacman will destroy him!

No matter how great this find is (and I doubt it'll be that great) there's absolutely no other fight out there to claim any momentum for boxing. There's a complete lack of interesting fighters or fights.

The proposed megafight between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. was thrown into jeopardy Tuesday with a demand by Mayweather's camp that both fighters be subjected to Olympic-type drug testing in the weeks leading up to the bout.
Mayweather's manager said the fight would not go on if Pacquiao didn't agree to blood testing under standards followed by the United States Anti-Doping Agency.
"There is no fight without Olympic-style random drug testing," Leonard Ellerbe said.

Pacquiao should only agree to the drug testing if Mayweather agrees not to run away like a little bitch in the ring once the fight starts.
I personally hope this fight doesn't get made just so Pretty Boy doesn't get this huge payday.

I don't care what reasons he has, this makes Pacquiao look bad.

Yet MMA dudes rolling around on the floor is so exciting?
I watched Manny vs. Coto this week on TSN. Coto is no slouch (only one pro loss before) and Manny destroyed him.

Yes because Cotto doesn't run away like a bitch. but if you see parts of the fight where cotto jabs and avoids the power of the pac the fight becomes very boring.
I hate mma. and sprinters like Mayweather in boxing.
Cotto's only loss before was to a guy with cement in his hands! and the Pacman made his face look even worse without cement.

Bad tactic by Mayweather's camp. Pacquiao does not exactly avoid getting the blood testing but not 30 days before the fight (supertitions) or blood testing being ran by random US company.
That's exactly what Mayweather and camp was trying to do. Make Pacquiao look bad. They are scared to fight Manny so they are trying to do anything to avoid this fight. Personally there is no reason for Pacquiao to fight this bum anyways. He is washed up and he's just looking to earn some big bucks. This reminds me of Larry Holmes (after retiring and coming back) fighting Michael Spinks I believed. He just wants to make the big bucks and the fight did not last for a long time anyways. I am sure Pacman will destroy this guy just like how he destroyed Oscar de la Hoya on his supposed to be comeback fight.

Have you watched these guys fight?
I realize that Pacquiao is all the rage now so ignoring the fact that he has been easily beaten a few times in his career is worth ignoring but there is no way that he destroys Mayweather and probably not a great chance that he beats him at all.
Mayweather is a better boxer and if he takes the fight seriously he should win no problem. The only issue is that Floyd seems to have become bored with fighting and likely doesn't care enough to take it seriously.

Mayweather isn't afraid to fight Pacman. Why would he be? He's a superior boxer. This isn't anything to do with being scared. Superstition is a lame cop-out by Pacquiao and it will be his fault if this fight doesn't happen.
FYI, Mayweather also beat Oscar.

Oh I think he will. A man of his ego couldn't take losing his undefeated streak. I don't think Mayweather has faced anyone with the power / speed combo that Pacquiao has, and do think Pacquiao would win. And I'm actually a Mayweather fan. I just don't think that stylistically he matches up well with Pacquiao.
As far as the blood testing thing, it seems like a bit of a head game from Floyd's camp. Can't remember the last time I ever heard of a fighter requesting blood testing, anyone else remember?

So does Mayweather look bad now that it's come out that he refused to agree to a clause that would charge a fighter $10mil for failing a drug test??

FYI. Mayweather won a split decision against De La Hoya, while Pacman crushed him every round for 9 nine rounds until he quit on his stool.
FYI Mayweather refused to fight Shane Mosely because he was too scared of his power and speed. Mosely lost to Cotto, who got destroyed by Pacquiao.
Go look at his record. Who has Mayweather actually fought? Nobody too impressive and has never gone overweight classes to fight the best in the division. Just talks a whole bunch of crap.
Mayweather needed extra pounds against an underpowered Marquez.
Against Juan Manuel Marquez last September, Mayweather was compelled to pay Marquez a total of $600,000 for coming in at 146 lbs. The agreed weight was 144 lbs. Mayweather went on to beat the overpowered Mexican on a lopsided 12-round decision

The fact that was even a split was such a joke. Mayweather owned De La Hoya the entire fight. I actually laughed out loud when they announced it was a split decision.
