Xbox Live Gold Promos...(Wtf?)

Anyone else getting that "Upgrade today" message on Xbox Live? I keep seeing this when I log into xbox.com, and now I'm seeing it when I turn on my console...

I'm already Gold. I've always been Gold. I buy 1 year subs, and they have my credit card on file... why are they trying to sell me 3 months of Gold, when I still have 8 months of my current 1 year sub left?

Yeah, it's 50% off. I mean that's a good deal, but I'm wondering if there's something wonky with my account.

Every Live service I log into now is telling me to upgrade to Gold, but when I look at my status it says "Gold." When I look at my subscription, it says "One year. Expires Jan 2011."

Weird. My xbox is unmoded, btw, so it can't be from anything like that.

I got it on mine under the Spotlight section. 3 months for $15 or something. Has to be some promo, I saw on RFD's that you can get 1 year for $40, so it isnt a good deal at all.

You can stack more months on what you already have and extend your subscription. Maybe that's what they are trying to get you to do.

There is a sale at Bestbuy for the next few days, $40 for a year. I'm going to go tomorrow!

i got the same message as fanin80; similar situation.

i just might move on that $40 at best buy deal...

although i have to shout out the 7 game hdmi xbox at fshop for $300; its a pretty good deal if you find the games of interest.
