Default Carter Bancks

Looks like he has been invited to the Flames development camp this summer.

Quote:
Bancks has attended two NHL training camps as a free agent. The first invite was by the Atlanta Thrashers after his impressive efforts at the 2008 NHL Prospects tournament. Then last summer he was invited to the San Jose Sharks training camp. He will now look forward to his third camp with who he calls his favourite team, the Calgary Flames.

Bancks says he needs to work on a lot of aspects to his game but his main focus is his size.

“I really need to gain some strength and some speed,” Bancks admits. “I’m pretty light weight right now so I’d like to put on some weight and gain power and speed over the summer and get ready for development camp. Try to fine-tune many aspects of my game as there are a lot of improvements that I can make.”
They must really like him, he has been playing in Abbotsford on a try-out contract and has played in every game since.

“I’d like to think I’m a good two-way player,” he said. “Good in my own zone and very hard working. I try to finish all my checks, get under their skin and be tough to play against.

"Hopefully as I go along I’ll get a little more confident and be able to produce a little more offensively.”
In other words, a grinder. Just what we need more of!

He was the heart and soul of the Lethbridge Hurricanes and will go down as one of the most popular players in franchise history. If he makes the show Flames fans will love him.

Yep. I've seen a fair amount of this guy with the Hurricanes, and I'd love to see him in a Flames uniform. He's definitely smaller but the guy has miles & miles of heart.

Well, we got a ton of "heart" guys already. But he is playing well for the heat, so I welcome him into the fold.

Sadly, that's not true anymore. I think it was one of the biggest problems with this year's edition of the Flames.

I think he means a heart player is an energy player.

We have lots of those. What he's implying is that we need some bonafide skill.
