Default Recommend a Mechanic

I'm looking for a reputable mechanic in the SW who can perform an independent inspection on a used Toyota Sienna we have a conditional sale for.

I've been burned by the "comprehensive 5 million point dealer inspection" before and don't want that experience again.

Thanks y'all

Option Import. Jim does great work, I've been there lots and know many people who have known him since he was a little kid. Honest guy.

Okay you might laugh at me for suggesting this but... Canadian tire in Leduc

I was driving home from Calgary earlier this summer and some pulley on my car came loose causing the engine belt to dislodge and essentially make my car undriveable. My car was essentially smoking (very hot), and I pulled into a Shell gas station and filled it coolant and asked them if there was anywhere to get my car fixed. They weren't sure but Thank God there was a Canadian tire and I was able to slowly drive it over there. Had it fixed in a day, and was pretty cheap and seems fine to me now.

I probably wouldn't get anything else done but thought I'd share this story for no other reason than I am extremely bored.

Years back, I used to go to Mike's Auto Service in Marda Loop. Didn't have any problems with them, they seemed to know their stuff and never ripped me off. It's right next to Crowchild across from Safeway. Like you, I am not a fan of dealerships... most of their mechanics know more about reading a computer screen than understanding how an engine works.

Countdown to the dude in Riverbend being mentioned. I haven't been to see him, but remember hearing that he's totally honest a few times now.

Mikes auto service, did a great job on pre purchase inspection. Let him know all the details too, he also looked up the black book value, and told me what price you should be buying the car for, roughly. And he is a mountain of info, on problems your car could have, or face in the future.
