Default Blocking new users from creating threads

I have a suggestion, which I am sure it has been brought up a few times already.

Anyways, can we block people who JUST make accounts from creating threads? Most new people seem to either start ######ed thread ideas (most of duplicates anyways, or trash longstanding members who contribute) without knowing how the flow here goes.

I think it would stop a ton of the what I consider, stupid threads, and bring the quality of posts up again.

Maybe a 30 day no thread making probation, or after X amount of posts they can create.

Just a thought

Such a rule is in place on the Fire on Ice forum; as well as ticket sales.

For every outburst like we just saw in OT- there are many others that have merit. Like how much fun everybody has had with the "Bad roofing contractor" thread.

Finding a picture of someone and posting it without their permission is a breach of someone's privacy.

That's true. Others could google his username foxmulder91 and look at any twitter and myspace accounts that come up and judge for themselves

So as long as there was no picture it was fine?

What was fine? A sig that calls out a banned user? Probably not, it doesn't bring any good (other than making someone feel superior maybe?) and will just incite the person to reregister to counter-attack.

But what if the user keeps reregistering anyway? Isn't the sig a good way to identify him when he figures out how to come back?

The best was when he used the same 91 at the end of his name.

Shhhhh. Nobody is supposed to know that Photon added a mod to the forum software that allows us to tap into users' webcams.
