Default Ski Boots

Having trouble getting a pair of boots that fit well, apparently i have a large instep and most boots dont have the room in them. Anyone have any suggestions as to who might be a good place to go to?

I bought my boots at SkiWest, the guys there are a bit abrupt but not outright rude/snobby like a lot of the shops out there.

More important though, I have a high instep/arch whatever you wanna call it (a high arching midfoot, that needs support underneath and also space overtop in top of the shell of the boot, with decent width in the toe box as well), and I found that Atomic were the best boot for my foot.

Slight change of topic, but anyone here try out the K2 Kung Fujas or the Line Prophets? I am looking at each....

Anyone know where I can demo them conveniently? I have checked Lake Louise/Sunshine/Fernie/Castle demo selections without luck, I know some small ski shops will let me but I feel guilty returning them and not buying them.

I want to try out a mid-width rockered ski for myself (I realize only one of them is rockered, but it is part of my decision making process, I have some other skis in mind too like the Volkl Bridge, etc).

that describes my situation, i havent been to Ski West yet, but i will look at the Atomics, did you have to get a special foot bed as well?

I will preface this saying that i bought my boots about 5-6 years ago? They were very highend though, and serve me very very well to this day, but I dont know to what degree Atomics have kept their 'typical fit' or what the other options have done to improve arch support/foot space for that matter....

ALL the boots I tried were extra hard for me to get my feet into (no boot is spacious obviously, but you know what I mean), especially pushing my high arched foot through the middle part of the boot when getting it on. The Atomics were pushed on me for this problem at two different stores, and while still hard they did not have hard plastic pushing right into the top of my foot where it meets my ankle (shocking how painful that is).

Ski West was REALLY good about boot fitting after the fact though, after a couple times out i wanted a bit more space above my little-pinky-toes and they had no problem getting me that.

The liners I got with the boots had really really nice insoles back then, and after putting a small additional footbed under the liner in the bottom of the boot I am finally comfortable.

One thing I would suggest though, is only wearing a liner-sock (thin nylon sock). Racers might do it for speed, but with the high mid foot and wider forefoot the liner sock helps fit too. Those extra 4mm you might need...
