Default New Conan the Barbarian has been cast

According to Deadline Hollywood, Lionsgate and Millenium Films have picked the actor to play the lead role in Marcus Nispel's reinvention of Robert E. Howard's Conan and it's 30-year-old Jason Momoa, who may best be known for his run on "Stargate Atlantis" and who also appears in HBO's upcoming mini-series "Game of Thrones."

I always pictured Khal Drogo as a Conan type character.. very weird how that worked out.

Look forward to seeing what he can do with both characters.

That first pic is no Conan!!

They might as well cast Michael Cera!

^ Completely Agree with you.

This is one remake that should be left alone, Kind of like "The Planet of The Apes"......they never should have even attempted that one.

....Where has all the creativity gone? The Movie and Music Industries seem to be addicted to the remake the last few decades.

He'd better get on the roids fast.

He looks like Conan's cabin boy.

I really want this to be a good movie... the first one was so fun to watch growing up (The Destroyer was awful). Ahnold had the right accent, physique and looks, though perhaps he needed darker skin. But he pulled it off.

But c'mon.... this guy has potential and strong facial features, and they'll fix his hair, but how can he pull off "The Barbarian" looking like this? He needs bulk fast.

What they didn't tell you is that in this movie, Conan is a somewhat foppish metrosexual librarian with a predication to lemon water and high fashion.

Instead of a broad sword his weapon of choice is a devastating open hand slap accompanied by a insistent "Oh no you didn't"

Conan in the original movies and the comic books looked like a barbarian who looked like he wouldn't think twice about tearing your head off of your shoulders. This guy looks like he'd take two hours before a battle braiding his companions hair and making sure that their accessories don't match.

Yech.

I wonder if Arnold would do a cameo for this one.

That guy looks like a joke. Not very barbarian like. The part where Conan was a slave pushing that mill, arnold legitimized that. You'd naturally infer he would be that big with all that slave-labor. This guy??? He looks more Old Navy caribean edition.

Damn, I've never seen this movie. Better go torrent it.

The guy they picked looks like someone from The OC.

Dude, that guy is bad ass. Watch some Stargate Atlantis and get in the know. I'm totally down for him being Conan, especially seeing as how Conan wasn't an Austrian. Somewhat historical accuracy ftw

Even at age 62 Arnold could still be a better Barbarian than this skinny idiot!
