Default Sonos Multiroom System

Does anyone have any experiences with this multiroom system? I would like to get one of this since it is one of the cheaper alternative for zone distribution.

If I'm understanding it correctly, this Sonos System requires you to either buy a audio receiver for each room you're looking to zone? It really depends what your current equipment is and what you're intending to accomplish.

I accomplished multiroom sound by picking up two Apple Airtunes receivers and connecting them to the sound systems I have on two separate floors. Costed less than $200. I can control which rooms the sound goes to right through iTunes or my iPhone. It's worked very well, and mostly just has issues when I use the microwave.

As I said, depends on what you want to accomplish.

I'm actually moving to my new house in a week and I got the builder to put ceiling speakers. Three Zones in total. I know how the technology works but not sure if this technology is a way to go or spend extra cash and go with Nuvo System. How reliable is it?

I went with the Nuvo system for my house and I don't remember it being that expensive. Look on ebay - that's where I got mine.

I looked at the Essentia System from Nuvo in town and its gonna cost me around $4000 - $5000.

Ebay was cheap around $2000 for the unit only but gotta get it installed which will add up the cost.

What kind of Nuvo do you have?

Not much installation needed with the Nuvo systems. I got the Simplese, which is good for 4 zones and the cheaper of the 3 from Nuvo. Just run your speaker wire to where you will have your amp and Nuvo and run cat 5 from each room (for the keypads) to the same area. It couldn't have been more that $400 for the Simplese when I bought it 3 years ago. I think General Audio gave me a price on the unit that was almost double what I paid on Ebay. Just shop around.
