That means half of the people in this thread (generally, forgetting those old farts) have HPV.
Which of us is it? HUH?
While the majority of the nearly 200 known types of HPV cause no symptoms in most people, some types can cause warts (verrucae), while others can – in a minority of cases – lead to cancers of the cervix, vulva, vagina, and anus in women or cancers of the anus and penis in men. [1] Most people who become infected with HPV do not know they have it. [1]

83% of sexually active women are actually carriers. It has little to no effect on men but can cause cervical cancer in women. Most women are not told they have it when they go for check ups becuase it is not treated until the cells become abnormal.

The thread title is incorrect. In two different ways even, that's impressive for such a short sentence.

is it sad that I'm more upset that I don't fit in the age range, rather than be happy that my demographic bracket doesn't have the high likelihood of having HPV?

The real kicker is that 80% of humans are infected with H-Pyloi in the butts! Right up there where the sun don't shine.
Little squid looking things thiving in your rectums, breeding and spreading through poop, kissing, etc.
Research it and you'll never want to touch another person again. (well, unless you like a good colonoscopy once in awhile, and horrid 3 day diets. Party on Garth!)

Technically, most people (men and women) that get it will have no effect and the immune system will get rid of it after a year or 2 years. However, the strain that becomes persistant and hang around long term and may cause warts in the genital area. Long term, it may cause cancer in women and men (more rare, but it does happen)

Good thing I just turned 25, I must be cured.
I'd care more if I was a girl, but even then, meh. There's other, more dangerous, stuff to worry about.

Its called a condom people. Why are young men banging these women and not rubbering up. Geez, its common sense, dont bareback the chick you met at the country bar with the fine a$$, great body, huge tats, and butterface. Come on men, we are the superior gender and not rubbering it is just plain dumb.
For those who travel with other types of partners, I have no advice for you.
