Movember!!!

I did a quick search and found nothing about this.

Movember is basically about letting your mustache grow during this month to support prostate cancer research. You can go to this site to find out more:

Basically, the idea is to set up your own team of Mo'bros (bros who are willing to grow a mustache)...and Mo'sistas (women who love the stache) to raise funds as well as awareness.

I felt that it would be inappropriate for me to ask the CP community to donate to the group my friends I have set up so PLEASE, don't take this as an asking for money post.

My hope is simply to raise awareness for this cause.

(IF of course you don't have the time to set up your own group, feel free to PM for more info)

I will start posting pictures of me with my stache, as well as my co-workers later today, and continually throughout this month for everyone's entertainment.

There is to be no joining of the mo' to the sideburns (that's a beard)

There is to be no joining of the handlebars on the chin (that's a goatee)

A small, complimentary growth under the bottom lip is allowed (AKA, the tickler)

My company is doing this as well. I considered participating, except I have a wedding and public meetings to attend to this month, and my "moustache" comes out rather fu man chu-ish and patchy at best, so I'm tapping out. Maybe next year though

I didn't shave for 5 days or so and shaved it all but the Mo and it looked so ridiculous that I couldn't stop laughing. My abs couldn't take a full month of abuse like that so I'm pledging someone else.

I would love to rock the moustache all month, but I have grad pictures coming up within a week. I'll have the van dyk for those, but after that I think I'm gonna go with a trucker/tickler combo...might even throw in some sideburns.

My company is doing this as well and really it was worth donating to if for no other reason that listening to them set all the rules for the month and now watching them walk-around with varying degrees of "success" on their upper lips.

Some of the rules:
- this is to be a tight, business man style stache - no crazy handlebar, fu man chu or wispy staches are to be permitted
- start the month out clean shaven and aside from maintenance no shaving thru the month - if the task becomes too onerous and you cannot continue (ie your wife makes you quit or you are just THAT embarassed) you can buy out for $100

and so on....

Congrats to all who are participating/donating - totally a great cause!
