GAME 13: Hamilton at STAMPEDERS
Last time the Stamps played the Tiger Cats, they were awful and Burris and the Offensive players stunk big time. At the same game, they lost one of their most consistent receiver in Thelwell due to injury.
Last game against BC Lions was a total opposite on the Hamilton game. The Stamps rushed for 208 yards total against BC (151 yards of those are courtesy of Joffrey Reynolds).
This time they are playing at home, I don't see them losing this game against the Hamilton Tiger Cats, I don't care who is quarterbacking the Cats.
OFFENSE: Reynolds rushed for 151 yards and the total rushing yardage for the Stamps was 208 yards. This is the third time this season they have surpassed 200 yards rushing in a game.
Burris pass for less than 200 yards against BC Lions but he did managed to move into sole possession for top spot on the Stamps' All-Time TD passes when he threw TD pass to Jeremaine Copeland. He is now one TD pass ahead of legendary Doug Flutie.
Romby Bryant on his first game as a Stamps did well enough last game. Burris went his way a few times. One of his catches were actually challenged by the Lions but the challenged went their way.
Nik Lewis probably turned that game around when he made a spectacular catch. He caught the ball then fumbled it after he hit his elbow on the ground and BC Lions recovered and it was ruled an INT. Coach Hufnagel challenged the call and he claimed that Lewis was down by contact. Calgary won the challenged so the ruling on the field were overturned. Then Burris threw an end zone pass to Copeland. Nice catch and good balance by Copeland making sure his left feet touch the turf before he goes out of bounce.
Offensive Linemen gave Reynolds lots of room to run around. Lazeo came back and took the snaps while O'Neill moved into Jesse Newman's position and did a great job. Newman is still questionable to play.
DEFENSE: DL Charleston Hughes had a huge game against the Lions. 2 QB sacks and he was a force. Newcomer Dee Webb started well with the fumble recovery but he was torched a few times by Buck Pierce and Geroy Simon. He was benched in the second half and replaced by Keon Raymond. Raymond did a great job so against Hamilton, he will be the starter. Dee Webb won't play against the TiCats and will be replace by surprise healthy scratch LB Dwayne Carpenter in the lineup. Our DLine and LB crews are starting to play so well lately.
I guess no more experiment for Hufnagel on secondary position. With CB Brandon Browner back, the Stamps now have one of the toughest secondaries in the CFL with Import Safety Milton Collins, Canadian Safety Wes Lysack, CB Dwight Anderson, HB Keon Raymond and John Eubanks.
SPECIAL TEAM: Markus Howell took the punting return duties while Demetrius Summers did an awesome job returning kickoffs. Summers came back with the vengeance last game. After the Lions scored their TD, Summers came back and almost scored a kickoff TD return. He returned for 75 yards. Even though P Burke Dales is still hurting, he is still playing good football. DeAngelis missed an unfortunate field goal hitting the cross bar.
-------
The Stamps defense needs to keep on pressuring the Ticats QB. It doesn't matter if Porter is playing or Kevin Glenn. Stamps offense needs a good start on this game. The Stamps are tied with the Riders for 1st place in the West. The Stamps will win the tie-breaker if they have the same record as BC Lions and or the Eskimos.
GO STAMPS GO!!
More updates before game time tomorrow.

Labinjo should be back in the lineup and will probably rotate into the line.
With snow in the forecast, it will be interesting to see how the offenses perform. I expect a lot of fumbles and dropped balls.

Things couldn't have gone any better tonight for the Stamps. First the Bombers beat the Esks and then the Lions knock off the Riders. A win tomorrow night puts the Stamps all alone in first.

Yup, great opportunity for the Stamps here. I don't see any realistic way that first in the west doesn't come down to the two Stamps-Riders games, but they can definitely gain the upper hand with a win today.

Now THIS is football weather! Let's hope for another 200+ yards on the ground like last week, and the Stamps will be golden.
I love days like this where it's Stamps, then Flames right after. Two wins and I'll be smiling all week.

Not a good start on offense. Defense is doing okay though with 2 fumble recoveries so far. Wow, a wildcat play. it didn't work though. It is 3-3 and DeAngelis already missed one field goal.

Burris is not having a good day so far. Almost got intercepted again(2nd time today). DeAngelis kicked a field goal and it's good 6-3 Calgary.

Man oh Man. The defence has 3 turnovers but the Stamps only have 6 points. Slow starts are killing this team. Bad penalties again tonight.

Painful to watch, only 3 points off 3 Hamilton turnovers? Where is the offense? Not only that Stamps get a horrible offside called against them. Offside by a finger and ref throws a flag?

What is up against Hamilton that Burris just forgets how to throw the ball properly? Earlier he almsot got intercepted 3 times and now an INT. Our defense cannot handle the ball by themselves.

Burris need to sit down in the 2nd half and let him watch the game even for 2 sequence. He's been brutal today and I think TiCats is psyching him out. 2 - 5 plays or INT won't cut it. Our defense cannot stay on the field way too long all game.

Here is what I think is happening with Burris, and he admitted to it after the last Esk-Stamps game, he is locking into one receiver. He is really just looking for Copeland and no else. He has forced some bad balls tonight and for the first time in along time they are actually getting picked off. He has 4 good receivers in Franklin, Bryant, Copeland, and Lewis. Use them all. Lewis was wide open for his first TD of the season if Hank wasn't locked in.

WTF has happened to the passing game? I can't believe how bad they have been since the last time up in Edmonton. Lots of boooing at McMahon as the offence has been leaving the field.

Terrible play calling may give the game to Hamilton. 2nd and 3 and your going for a 10+ play? Do a dump pass and get 3-4 yards and the 1st down.
BUT IT DOESN'T MATTER! SACKED!!
3rd and 25, defense really stepped up. Turn over on downs.
We'll win this game 15-14, what a rubbish game.
