Default Facebook Question...

My friends and I were having a discussion about social networking a few nights ago, and the topic came up on Facebook albums and pictures.

One guy said that before, you could track to see who was viewing your Facebook photos. The other guy said that this, as far as he knows, was never possible, unless it was some 3rd party software.

And yeah, before anyone asks, the topic was brought about due to creepifyin' stalker behavior. (Which I am sure, at some point, we have ALL done.) *hangs head*

So, CP, help me settle an argument. Was tracing who was viewing your photo album ever a feature on Facebook?

I never had it. But I think there might've been an application in the past where it tells you who was on your wall/page. I did not have this application because the drawback was that they would know when you were on their wall/page as well.

Not sure if it actually worked or not

No it has never been a feature. The only thing that tracked that was an app and the person had to go into the app for them to be tracked

There was an app...but both parties had to have it installed.

So no, not really.

As far as I know, no. I believe there was a app once for telling you the % of who has been posting on your wall and commenting on your pictures, but thats it. Facebook has long said they aren't willing to make it public who has been looking at your pictures... and how many times. I fear the day they start making that public, without me knowing... ha... ha...

I'm a big time facebook creeper. The day it's made public I should probably just kill myself

Have you been stalking someone you shouldn't have?

Your friend might have been confusing their social networking apps. I'm pretty sure this feature was either in Friendster or Myspace (I believe Friendster).

If you have a "friend" who comments on a photo of someone who isn't your friend, you can still see their photo album, even if the privacy setting is friends only. Its just one of the facebook glitches out there.

I'm glad Facebook doesn't have an app that shows how many times people have viewed your profile. If some of my friends found out....

Apps like that are illegal for privacy purposes.
