Caps shed money, deal with the Panthers

The Caps have dealt.....

Veteran Center Rod BrindaMour and a 2nd are heading to the Panthers.

Coming back....

Dman Eric Brewer, Center Adam Burish, 3rd rounder and prospects Tyler Plante and William Wren (an SJ NHL 2nd rounder).

This deal boils down to the need to shed salary (we save 2.25 million) and bring in some depth to the team.

Good deal for both sides; Panthers get a #1 center and are slowly building themselves into a solid team. Capitals shed some much needed salary to fill in the rest of their holes.

Brind'Amour is a solid guy who can play in any situation and is one of the best leaders in the game... solid pick up.

When I traded Betts, I wanted to get a good center to replace him, and I did.

I now have a pretty solid team top to bottom, even the crappy OV players can play defense pretty good. Just need to fill the last couple holes and I'm set.
