well we lost the Zack Stortini sweepstakes, despite our generous 3 year offer
glad to welcome back shawn Thornton to our team as the 13th forward and enforcer, and Nathan Paetsch who we had about 7 years ago back as our number 7 D, guess we are about done
ps thanks for all the hard work!

First Line Centre

Well I was looking for some injury reserve type players and in the end was not even in the same ball park. I have a bit of work to do on the farm but now have a fair amount of wiggle room money. Should be able to get some sponsors this go round.

I definitely overpaid for Perrin but I needed a 3rd line center and he fills that role.

I definitely overpaid, totally misjudged, I can't believe a 64 OV player went for 2.81M, what a steal to get Cooke for the Stars. Based on previous rounds I thought he might go for 3.5 so I didn't offer.
On a lighter note I ran into Cooke at the local Wal-mart past 10pm looking at birthday cards just after he won the cup. He was dressed shabby but he couldn't fool me, the Stanley Cup champion hat kind of gave him away. His daughter is friends with one of my co-workers daughters. All I know is that he flew home during the season for a quick visit to celebrate his daughter's birthday.

I'm surprised he didn't try to run you into the card rack from behind.

Happy to get Stortini as a 4th line RW. The team is now virtually in place.

Wow the Ducks are very pleased to end up with 3 UFAs in the 1 signing period.
Tellqvist will allow Varlamov to take up some AHL minutes. Tellqvist has a 63ov rating right now, at 1 million he will fit in perfectly and then be released after this season.
PJ Axelsson we sent a ton of money towards but with his ratings we had to. He brings a 77DF along with his 62OV. He cost a lot of money but we had the cap space and felt the need to add another elite defender to the team.
Douglas Murray is just a depth Dman, we owned his rights before but didn't want to give him 1.7 for 3 years one way (or somewhere around there). He is actually a solid NHL dman which is why we wanted him for 3 years, if he ends up being terrible well we can just waive him and his small contract down to the AHL.

It sounds like a lot of offers were made on him, but I can confirm that your price was miles higher than what I had bid! He was awesome for me last year though, and his stats CPHL-wise were definitely worth the price you paid.

Thanks for doing all this work
Jassen Cullimore belongs to the Hawks and not the Hurricanes were he currently is.

I signed Grier to a 2 year deal, it appears as 3 years in this thread and on my roster. I can resend the email offer if I have to.
