Default GPS route through Golden and Revelstoke

Is anyone aware of any road problems in the Golden and Revelstoke areas? I'm driving that way tomorrow and my GPS refuses to give me a route through that area to get to Vernon. BC. If I calculate different routes, it takes me way up north or way down south to the US border, but not the direct route. Banff, Golden, Revelstoke is the most direct route but my Tom Tom doesn't seem to recognize the route.

Yeah, I've seen a similar map on the AMA website. It shows construction near Golden but it doesn't start until Aug. 4 so it should not be a problem tomorrow. I guess I'll go that way anyway as it should be clear. Still don't know why my GPS doesn't think so.

I just drove it.. East of Golden is pretty much a mess with the twinning of the TC project from Kamloops to Alberta border, but Revelstoke is fine.

No issues. But if you need a GPS to drive the Transcanada.....

Oddly enough my GPS tells me that the fastest way to Vernon is through Jasper, but on the way home, has the right instructions.

I personally use my GPS to tell me how far I have left to drive between waypoints.

I know they were doing some blasting at one point not to long ago. Probably to do with the twinning that someone else mentioned.

how ironic that 'doctordestiny' would seek directions to get anywhere.
