Default Fantasy Art

I have been wondering about something lately, and I know there are a few people on this board that would know about this, and have some good ideas and insights.

The thing is this - I've been wondering what would be considered some of the best Fantasy, Sci-Fi, and comic book art pieces out there, be they originally from a Book cover, Movie poster, or Graphic Novel (inside or outside). Any ideas?

I know a few that I would think are gimmies.

There's more, but I'm interested in knowing which pieces would be considered iconic, or famous, or otherwise excellent. Anyone?

When I was younger I was into fantasy art. Michael Whelan was probably my favorite artist. Also really liked John Howe's Tolkien artwork. Every year I'd get the Tolkien art calendar that came out, and the ones that Howe illustrated were my favorites. Yes, I was that much of a geek. Also I was really fascinated by HR Giger's aliens designs. And anything with boobies.

HalifaxDrunk... did you draw that yourself just now???

Edit: Ok, I see where it's from. FYI, don't go to the first site you google when you put "Kevin Wanks" into the search field.

You know, that's practically restrained by Boris there. I'm not a major fan of his stuff because it tends to the trashy side, but that one isn't as bad as most of his stuff.

That's me, always classy!
I did not want to post one of the others, but people can look him up.
