Default Jersey lettering coming off - help!

I got my Stamps jersey out to wear to the exhibition game last week, and I am noticing that the lettering is coming off. It is a plastic two tone, with black on the bottom and white over top. The white is peeling off the black in some places.

I imagine that this could be fixed using heat in the proper way, like with an iron. I also have a feeling that I could easily destroy the jersey by putting an iron to it the wrong way.

Anyone ever have this problem and solve it?

You could try sewing it in addition to the heat transfer...like the pros do.
