Caps Offseason deals

The Capitals have swung their first (of many) offseason deal.

The deal breaks down like this :

To Nashville:

Steven Reinprecht
Francis Boullion

To Washington

Ray Whitney
Robert Bortuzzo - ECHL

This is basically a deal to bring in a strong SIM player. This does not nothing to solve the Capitals shortage of players, but it does improve the scoring up front, as well as add another prospect Dman to the fold.

The Capitals take on 3 milllion in this deal, and it is expected that moves will be neded to save cash.

Seems like an even deal, Like Hesla said, Caps get the better player but take on more money as well.

For us this deal cuts a couple of million in cap, and gives us two pro players in the process. Whitney being a sim-monster is hard to move, but the cost cutting has begun here!

Cap room is definitely valuable this time of year so this deal makes a lot of sense for both sides.

Makes sense for both teams but I like this move a bit more for the Caps.

Caps swing a minor deal.

Andy Hilbert and a 4th rounder head to the Rangers in exchange for Shaone Morrison.

Basically, the Caps needed a Dman.
