Where to buy a dishwasher
My frigging 2 year old Whirlpool died and now I need a new one. What's more, it's got to have a stainless front to go with the rest of my stuff (the other half's requirement)
Can anyone point me to a place that has decent prices on this stuff?

I work at "The Home Depot" in the appliance department, part time. They carry GE, Maytag & LG. Stop in at your local one and check out the selection. The only problem is that it is usually special order, so you may have to wait a day or two for it to arrive.

You can get Filipinos pretty cheap. I got mine from the airport. I guess they flew in from Vancouver. It's cheap and they work hard.

I remember my mom shopped at a few box box stores for hers and ended up getting it from Coast Appliances since they gave her a better package deal on the whole set of appliances. I have no idea if they would give you any sort of deal on just a single dishwasher though.

^^^ We got ours at Coast Appliances, the service was decent and prices were low.
However, we also purchased a fridge, washer & dryer at the same time.

Call up the Brick, and ask to speak to somebody in the Comercial Sales Department. When you get somebody from comercial sales, tell them your realtor said to talk to them. You can get better pricing that way- and the comercial sales guys don't care how you got their number as long as they get themselves a sale.

I've had good luck with Sears. They have lots of sales so you can get a deal. Plus they do a good job when something does go wrong under warranty. They have a good service/parts store for when it's past the warranty as well.

Sears also.
I bought a dishwasher about 6 months ago from the Sears Home in by the auto mall and I'm happy with it.

Sears has some awesome sales atm. Bought a fridge off them in February and they delivered for free and removed the old fridge for free. Knocked $200 off the price as well.

Actually our microwave bit the bullet a few months back and the sears warranty process was excellent. It's probably the first time I've had something fixed that was under warranty without pulling out my own hair in frustration.

If it's only 2 years old and it died a cheaper option would probably be just to get the motor in it replaced.
I have a number at home of a repairman I used. I think it ended up costing me around $250 when all was said and done (replaced the motor and the old seals).
I mean that's all a dishwasher really is and then that way you don't have to go about making sure the new one matches.

surprised your not under Warranty. I have a Jenn Air which has a 5 year limited warranty. Jenn Air, Maytag and Whirlpool, iirc, are all the same company now

I have had a few AWFUL experiences with Sears. They contract out their delivery and apparently are unable to contact the drivers. Seems like people here have had some good from them and I suppose as long as you are able to be at home 24/7 waiting for your delivery they would be alright.

Once you decide on a dishwasher, give me call. I'm awesome at finding the most efficient way to load dishwashers. I could come over to your place, take a look at your dishes and the washer to help you determine the best way to load it. I'm being super serial.
