Default How high can you hear?!?

Ultrasonic ringtones that are apparently becoming popular in high school. The students can hear their phone ring but the teacher can't.

Find out the highest pitch you can hear:

http://www.ultrasonic-ringtones.com/

I got 17.7

The 17.7 one is very faint to me. 16.7 is definitely the highest I can hear comfortably.

This kids are fools for using this ability for ring tones. They should be using it to communicate with each other during exams.

You can definetely hear the static that starts and stops the clip and that triggers your imagination. It happened to me many times listening to it. I'm not sure if I can hear it or not. I do hear a faint whine at 21.1 but it's not something I would notice if my phone rang.

Your hearing rules! You're either quite young or you've looked after your ears.

The highest pitched ultrasonic mosquito ringtone that I can hear is 19.9kHz

I got 15.8. Not bad for being almost thirty and having a severe history of ear infections and a permanently perforated eardrum.

It was weird. The two slightly higher tones I couldn't hear. But I could feel them. If I turned the volume up loud enough it was even a bit painful.

19.9

I could hear something on the one that was just above 19.9, but I think it was just static and not the actual ringtone.

Exactly, it depends on how loud your speakers are.

Lame test.

Not at all. 17.7 becomes a little more clear with a quiet room and the volume loud but I can't hear anything higher no matter how high I crank my speakers.

21 and I could only hear up to 17.7....18.8 was there, but VERY faint.

Nooooooo I'm losing my youth!

Can't imagine actually using that as a ringtone though.

Any test without controlled variables is lame.

Not exactly. I could hear 17.7 and 19.9 clearly, yet couldn't hear 18.8 at all.
