Default can I have your input guys re: trade?

I'm in a 10 team keeper league and this deal went down that had a few guys questioning its fairness. The trade was Khabibulin, O Brien and a first round pick (which as of today is 2nd overall and will most logically get no lower than 4th overall for Sergei Gonchar and Pascal Leclaire.

A little background on the deal would be the owner who traded Gonchar is probably going to be replaced next year because he's kinda crappy as far as setting his lines consistently. He's sitting in last by a decent margin. But there was absolutely no collusion or any shady stuff going on, just some people saw the deal not being even. My rationale for it being legit was the fact that Khabibulin has been playing great all year and plays on a fantastic hawks team. Leclaire will never be the number one on that jackets team again. And good luck finding a team that will take his salary next year. He has zero value in our league and only an idiot would disagree with that fact. SOB is nearly identical to Carcillo in the fact that he can win you the valuable PIMS category on his own. The pick is the wild card, I'll give them that. This years draft is looking fairly deep with guys like Tavares, Hedman, JVR, Filatov and possibly a returning Jagr being available. The owners on the outside of the playoffs looking in value their draft picks.

The owner who traded gonchars goalies are vokoun, osgood (waiver wire fodder), toskala(waiver wire fodder) and leclaire on the ir. Anyone who takes the time to read this and share your thoughts, it is truly appreciated because I know a lot of people have better things to do in life than comment on my fantasy league. Thanks again.

I think it is very one-sided. Throw out the pick and it is a fair deal as I see Khabby playing well for a couple of years yet.

The first rounder screws this deal up but if I was commissioner I think I'd allow it anyway. Unless collusion is an almost certainty, a commissioner should let deals like this go ahead because ultimately stupid/desperate GMs are going to make stupid/desperate moves and that is how they learn.

I agree that it's very one-sided. Are draft picks generally valued very low in that league?

Nothing ruins a pool more than people who veto based on perceived unfairness. What's next, all 10 managers collectively running all 10 teams? Ridiculous. Vetos are for collusion and shutting down trades that ruin the integrity of the league. This is neither of those.

Yeah well a few think i'm ripping him off for gonchar. I don't think I am. The way I see it is he's getting three assets back for one great player. Honestly I don't think Leclaire is worth a bag of pucks. Bulin is 12 games above 500 his Save percentage and G.AA are among the leagues best and on top of that goalies of his calibre like a Belfour or Cujo play well into their late 30s.

Bulin is only 36 and his groin injury is by all accounts minor. The general consensus by Hawks fans on HF is Bulin is their clear cut #1. Although Huet was brought in to claim that role, he hasn't been able to take the job away.

Draft Picks do have value in the league imo especially the top 5 picks. SOB is not chopped liver either. He was the pims runner up last year and is on pace for over 200 this year runner up only to Carcillo.

It's obviously not such a cut and dried issue as they make it out to be as I've had a few others on the yahoo board claim I'm the one getting hosed too.
