Default Music Library won't open

I've been "collecting" lots of new songs lately..storing them in my windows music. The last couple days though I can't open music. I just get the blank window saying "windows explorer not responding". I can open and see them in itunes ok, but not music. I've ran disk cleaners, defragged, virus checks, and still nothing. Anyone know an answer? Thanks.

How much stuff is in there?

Can you see the files through the CMD window?

I'm wondering if there is a funny character in one of the file names that is causing explorer to choke.

4 gigs worth, a lot of it lately. Sorry, not real familiar with dos at all. Would doing that simply be C:\Users\Me\Music ?

Yeah, you want to navigate to the directory with your music and then do a "DIR" If you have that many song then it will run for a while as they zip past on the screen, but you can always do a ctrl-C to break the list.

This will just show that the directory is still fine. If you can do that then it is probably just some mal-formed file header that windows doesn't like. Now finding it and fixing it, that could get tricky.

When I try to open it up I get "not recognized as an external or internal command, operable program or batch file".

I tried to open other folders too though and got the same thing.

When I open command prompt, the starting path is C:\Users\Me>

Should'nt the ">" be a "\" ??

Doesn't matter now, it seems to have fixed itself somehow now. Opens like a charm.
Weird.
