Bored - Monday NFL Trivia
Tennessee’s loss ended their perfect run at 10. They were the last team standing in 2008. The list below are the last 10 seasons where the last team standing lost their first game during the regular season (Please note I did not include 2007 because New England ran the table in the regular season). I have posted the last team standing by the corresponding year. Place the team that gave them their first loss of that season. You must place the correct team by the correct year.
No cheating.
2006: Indianapolis _________
2005: Indianapolis _________
2004: Philadelphia _________
2003: Kansas City _________
2002: Oakland _________
2001: St. Louis _________
2000: Minnesota _________
1999: St. Louis _________
1998: Denver _________
1997: Denver _________
**In 2002, Oakland and San Diego both started 4-0, but San Diego lost in Week 5, and Oakland lost their first game in Week 6 after they used their bye before Week 5.

Being a hardcore Colts fan, I know the first 2 for sure. Indy went 12-4 in 2006(won the Superbowl) and 14-2 in 2005 (could have been 15-1 but benched the starters in the last game of the year).

And I believe St Louis busted up Oakland's start in 2002 also, but I'm not sure.
That year began my few years of not watching football.

In 1997 I think it was the Giants who beat a 13-0 Bronco's team. That team finished 14-2 and lost it's first home playoff game.
I think it was the Chiefs who beat the Bronco's in week 6 of 1998 too. I remember a Pete Stoyanovich field goal of like 56 yards as the game ended giving the Cheifs a 1 point win of like 17-16. But the Bronco's returned the favor in the playoffs with a close win....(I still remember a holding penalty taking a KC field goal off the board which would have won the damn game!) Fricken Chiefs brutal at home in the playoffs.
The 2003 Chiefs started the season 9-0 only to lose to the Bengals in week 10. A weak, weak defence was exposed and that team limped home with a 4-3 record and in their first playoff game.
So with that...

1997: Denver __New York Giants_______

Wasn't that the year they lost to Atlanta in overtime, after Anderson missed his only field goal of the year in that game? Or was that the season before? Anyways, more horrible memories.

Year before. This particular year the Giants beat them in the playoffs something like 100-0.
