Question Help dating a puck

My mom found this old puck in my late grandmother's stuff and sent it to me. I'm hoping some collectors out there might know how old it might be. There's no team logo on it, and it definitely looks game used. No one in the family knows anything about it. Family's been in Colorado since the mid 1950's, but this looks too old to be a Rockies puck.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

This makes it look like it's from the 40s.

edit: looks like it's worth about $100 too

you're not the only one, I assumed it was some chick dating who wanted to date A hockey player and was anticipating a classic thread. Colour me disappointed.

I thought maybe the new forum software was censoring the word "bunny" now...

Wow, thanks for the quick reply! Wish I knew when and where she got it. She would have been in the Army in the 40s, so it could be from anywhere. I'll have to get one of those nice lucite puck cases for it, now that I know what it's worth.

I figured this thread was about a guy who was dating a girl that was obsessed with hockey players, possibly cheating on him with them, and by cheating I mean sleeping with them on command and using you the original poster as her "sugar daddy".

I am dissapointed, this had potential.

Double entendre in the thread title was totally intentional. I know how you all think.

I honestly thought you asked for advice on dating a puck bunny. It isn't that outrageous considering this is a hockey site.

I feel cheated. You owe me two clicks (one for the click to open the thread, and another for the click of the back button).

It's from 1942-1950.

Earlier 1940-42 pucks had the same sticker, but the city on the sticker is from Andover, Mass.

Some pucks in 1943 had the same city, Andover Mass., but a lighter orange sticker was used that year.
(Not clear if all pucks in 1943 were made in Andover).

1942-1950 were from Buffalo, NY. Also has the CCM note on the top of the sticker, where the previous years had the words "Tyre Rubber Company" (including the Andover 1943 pucks).

1950+ used a larger stop sign sticker... with some using a circle sticker after 1955.

Hard to determine what year... only way might be to sleuth out if your grand parents/relatives went to any NHL cities/games back then during any travels, or if you locate any other hockey memorabilia - might help suggest what year/game it came from.

But regardless.... very cool!
