Default Used Car Consignment

Hey folks,

I've placed the Mazda in the Autotrader, and haven't had all that much interest (with the exception of 3rd party companies).

I am thinking of placing the car on consignment at a used car lot. Or, maybe using something like Park it and Sell it.

Does anyone have any advice as to which consignment lot to use, or if Park it and Sell it is any good?

Thanks!

I never found auto trader to be too useful. I've always had good luck selling via an ad in the local paper... usually within a couple days.

Yeah, I have tried the Autotrader, Kijiji, Craigslist (for the Grand Am, but didnt bother with the Mazda), and the Buy/Sell forum here. A couple calls, a few emails, but nothing serious.

Do people still read the Bargain Finder (or buysell.com)?

Ebay is an interesting idea...

my biggest piece of advice would be to make sure it is priced right... You can have the best car but if it is priced wrong you won't ever get a look... like houses people tend to think they are worth more than they really are...

Find a good reputable car used car dealer like our very own sample and get them to sell it.. again make sure it is priced right and pay well to the people selling it. If you cheap out everyone will walk around the car and use it to sell something they can make money on.

Tim,

I did talk to Sample, but he felt the car wouldnt be a good fit with his inventory and target customer market.

I've been watching other 2007 MazdaSpeed3's for a few months now, and mine is priced in the ballpark of all of them. Plus for that similar price, I have tinted windows, 3M front, Mazda CAI, 72 Month Extended Mazda Warranty, and a new set of winter tires and alloy wheels.

Here is the autotrader add; do you mind telling me what you think it shold be priced at?

Sold my car through park it and sell it.. Took only a week and was fairly painless.

How long ago did you use Park it and Sell it?

I can vouch for park it and sell it too. Bought one vehicle, and sold two through them. It was a father/son outfit a few years ago, don't know about now. A little pricey, but was worth it for me. Decent fellas to deal with.

I had a very bad experience with Park It and Sell it and would not recommend them at all.

I'm considering Park It and Sell It as well. Any more info about them or experiences with them would be helpful...
