Anniversay gift ideas for Parents - 31st
Hey, I am stumped as to what to get my parents for their Anniversary.
A short trip has already been nixed as an option as they are in the middle of building a house and dont have time to come visit for a few days let alone be out of the country for a week
I am stumped because the trip is what I had had planned and saved for and now I am lost. Its not really a super important date (like 25, 50, etc) but its getting up there and I feel that now that I am somewhat financially secure I can afford to do something better than Bernard Calebeut' chocolates this year but am not sure what to do.
Any suggestions. If it helps I am 28, younger brother is 24, younger sister is 16 (brother wont be attending as he works abroad). Also the date is approx 1 month from today.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated

If they have photos in albums lying around, take them a scan them to produce a new (E)picture book that shows the three of you grow up over the years. Find pictures of your parents when they were young and include them. Write and share memorable stories the three of you had as kids to go along with the photos

Going to visit them would be a nice touch. I'm sure they would appreciate seeing you more than any gift you could buy.

If you can't visit them how bout sending them a gift certificate to the Keg or somewhere so they can go out for a nice dinner on the day! If they are busy building a nice meal out would be a good break too?

I take them for tours of old folks home, then buy them lunch and warn them not to piss me off.

I just get my parents a card on their anniversary. Actually we do the same for my wife's parents too. Unless you think that the 31st is one of them milestone anniversaries, I wouldn't do too much.

Am I the only one that thinks your sentence is weird about this topic is kind of weird?
Yeah, I think you are alone on this. Why wouldn't you buy a gift or do something nice to celebrate their anniversary?

Doing something nice is great, like babysitting or something so the two of them can go celebrate together, but purchasing for someone else's anni seems weird.
I guess I am weird.
