Thoughts?

I am very, very, pro-Saban. Any guy who is a disciple of Bill Belicheck is a good pick in my mind. And I think it's outstanding that they are giving him some power in choosing the new GM, similar to Pioli and Belicheck in New England.

Well, we got him. Any Dolphins fans out there like the move as much as I do?

Although not a Dolphins fan I will comment.

I think that it could be a good hire although is not a slam dunk. Giving him control could as it did with Belichek or backfire like it did with Butch Davis. If he surrounds himself with some solid personel guys I would be more inclined to say it will work out.

However, Miami is one of the worse teams in the league for a reason and will need some major upgrades offensively to get back to the play-offs.
