That was a great display of ball control. I think they might learned a lesson or two from last week. They completely shut the Als down in that 2nd half.

I didn't think Dales' troubles were him per se, more that I don't think we anticipated what the Al's would do from a pressure perspective.
Good second half. Good win against a good team.
I liked how they said Sandro is the best clutch performer in the CFL. That's good respect.
Our o-line WOW. If we get this kind of effort all the time we're going to be tough to beat.
PS, Esks give up a TD on the opening drive. HA HA HA HA HA. I love it because I live right by Commonwealth Stadium and it shuts up the crowd so I don't have to hear them.

Some of the decisions Hufnagel makes is mind boggling. Again when the stamps are 3rd and 1 he punts. If your offence cannot make a yard in the CFL you do not deserve to win.
Then he gambles on 3rd and 6 with like 5 minutes left in the game with a fake punt. UGH!
At least i give them credit for controlling the clock near the end of the game. Last week you knew Ray was going to come back. Too much time left on the clock.

Especially with two rookies starting...that's what has impressed me the most!

I thought it was a well called game, they struggled with gaining that one yard early on in the game. And taking a risk that deep in the other end is fine by me. I really like the offense that is in place, lots of quick outlets for Burris, very simple reads and allows him to move the pocket. It recognizes he is athletic, very streakly so the short routes give him some momentum, and quick simple reads that are good for his confidence.

Calvillo was never the same after disclocating his finger.
The offence is great, and if the young defence keeps improving, CGY has to be a Grey Cup favorite.

I thought that would be the turning point. It seems that #1 Calgary defense got pumped up after Calvillo's injury then they got the Als on 2 plays.
I say Defense should get consistent soon and special team (punting and punt return mostly) better get their act together soon. Huf need to put someone else as punt returner because Howell won't cut it. He's got the speed but he is also scared.

Markus Howell sucks.
Didn't the Stamps bring in a couple guys that were supposedly return threats this year? Summers and one other guy?

Everytime the other team punt the ball, i did not have any hope at all that we will have a good field position or score at all. It's usually 'ooops i can't catch the ball so i'll let it go to the end zone' kind of thing. Special teams needs to improve soon. Kickoff returner was not a problem.

Agreed. Too bad we couldn't hold onto Terence Wilkens after the 2005 season. He was only here for half a season, but damn was he electric!

That's okay, we scored 47 points tonight to make up for it! I love TRISTAN JACKSON!

I still don't know what to make of the Stamps. They were ripe for the picking once again and Montreal let them off the hook in the first half. Turnovers, penalties, pressure on Burris and the first half other than Montreal not finishing them off was not impressive. But they did manage the late field goal to keep it close.
Then the 2nd half they basically do it all off a couple of drives. Then, though they do manage to eat the clock, they produce zilch. Defensively was it them adjusting or an injured QB?
The last drive and not giving up points in the clutch was very impressive. But again hard to tell if it was them excelling or their opponent sucking.
A win on the road though outweighs any negatives.

In the end, the score flattered the Als. CGY had twice as many 1st downs.

If Hank had held onto the ball on the Als 12 yard-line in the first Quarter, the Stamps probably would have scored and negated the TD the Als went on to score on that ensuing drive. That one play changed the game from a definative victory for the Stamps to a close game where one less first down for the Stamps could have authored their downfall. Preventing turnovers should be this teams focus every week. The past few years the Stamps have probably been one of the most if not the most talented teams n the league but always found ways of turning the ball over to lose games. So far I like what I see this season, however it's plays like this that remind me that they still aren't totally over the hump.

We haven't won a turnover battle in a game so far this year. This concerns me. They nearly found a way to win against Edmonton, and they won against Montreal while giving up points off turnovers. It will catch up with them sooner or later if they keep doing it.
But yeah, I agree cowboy. Montreal marched down and score a TD off the Burris fumble. If he goes down without the ball breaking his fall and hangs on, they most likely come away with points, and Montreal doesn't score off the turnover.
In the first half every db/safety was a step or two away from their man. Frustrating to watch. Played much better in the second half. Good win, but lots to improve upon.

Aside form the game play here, the Stamps have got to get rid of the white jersey- black combination. Just terrible. The red pants looked so good. The stamps are red and white, not red, white and black.

Would you personally wear red pants in public?
