Icon59 UFA Rights: Alfredsson or Brodeur

Hey guys. In leu of my thread about cap issues, I hope to come out with less egg on my face here.

I keep getting asked about my "big" players, and if I'm going to make any moves with them. As of right now, I am opening the trade doors on the two UFAs. I plan on signing one, or the other, but not both. I still have an offer on the table for Alfie, but there has been complications.

So I figured I'd open this up a bit.

Alfie can go for a younger 2nd line RW, and a younger 1-4 Dman. Hoping to keep cap down to under $4M between the two players.

OR...

Brodeur can go for a younger, stud G. Willing to take a hit on OV to get a younger player. Again, trying to keep cap lower as well.

So you may be asking yourself, why would I pay so much for these guys if they are pending UFAs? Cause you can have the oppertunity to re-sign them before anyone else. And unlike the NHL, these guys aren't picky where they go. But that's the reason I still hold value in the rights. They still have legs, and will be franchise altering players. I'm not giving them away if I can help it.

As for the Vinny's and the Iginla's and the Zetterberg's... they are all in the plans, and fit into the cap nicely. They aren't going anywhere this season.

So if you're interested, and you have the pieces I want, make an offer, and see where it goes.
