Default CJSW - Annual Funding Drive

My annual challenge to CP'ers to match or exceed my $60.00 pledge:

http://www.cjsw.com/funding.html

CJSW is a non-profit organization that strives to provide diverse programming that spans awarding winning news and spoken work, local musicians and artistic endeavors, multicultural programming and any style of music you can imagine.

The station receives roughly half of its funding from an undergraduate student levy at the University of Calgary. This levy pays for the day-to-day operation of the station, but to cover the capital expenditures, some of the surprise costs, or upgrading equipment, we need to have a little extra money hanging around. This is where the CJSW Funding Drive steps in...

Because of your support last year we had the most successful Funding Drive ever! The grand total for pledges, including Live Drive events, was over $230,000.

Never a bad idea to pledge to CJSW, although I wish their t-shirts designs were a little more varied year to year. They've had the same late 90's indie illustrator look since, well, the late 90's.

I haven't lived in Calgary for a few years, but was there last week. I used to listen to CJSW before they were on FM and they were on cable radio, along with Radio-Radio. Anyways, Friday night when i was driving out of town I was listening to the Road Pops, haven't heard them in years, but they are still as good as ever. How long has that program been running?

I miss CJSW...Calgary is lucky to have such a station. Hopefully lots of people pledge.

Even if you don't have any ties to Calgary or U of C, there are lots of student radio stations that could use your support.

From my days at McMaster, I recall at least 2 campaigns that were needed to "save" CFMU.

I'll be pledging tomorrow afternoon - Jane and Tasya's Guide To Everything. And possibly again for Chad's show Friday afternoon. Go CJSW!
