How many games are left for the QC flames? When you say 2 points back is that from within their division or the crossover I've heard mentioned a couple times.

Anyways a playoff berth will do wonders for that franchise.

There are 12 games left, six home and six road, and the two points back refers to the crossover spot. The good news is that, yes, QC is only two points back from the fifth spot, but the bad news is that Houston, who sits in fifth, has three games in hand.

The good thing is that Houston hasn't played well against Chicago all season....and they play Chicago tonight and tomorrow night right after these two tough games against us. That's one of the three games in hand, as well.

Last night's game was very physical. Lots of fighting, hitting and shoving people around.

If they can just squeeze into the playoffs it will be huge for some of their young guys like Pelech, Chucko, and Keetley to get a taste of playoff action.

2-0 shutout win for the Flames tonight over Rockford. McElhinney makes 22 saves.

Last night I saw what may have been the best defensive effort that I've ever seen. Kolanos was whistled for a double minor in the third, and the Flames only allowed two shots during the penalty kill. Then, the Icehogs pulled their goalie with just under four minutes left, and the teams skated 6 on 5 for the rest of the game. The Flames only allowed one shot during that time, and the shot came with less than 10 seconds left, after the game was already sealed.

That's really good to hear.
