Default 4X4 and REDVAN's Deerfoot Dream Comes True

LMAO, no the speed limit hasn't been raised to 140 KPH. I said "dream" not "orgasmic fantasy"!

After all the discussion about whether Deerfoot was a "Slower Traffic Keep Right" designated area, which according to the gov't guidelines and the fact there was only ONE such sign as you headed deep south... indicated it wasn't.

Lo' and behold what do I see this morning? Apparently overnight, as I don't remember seeing them yesterday, I saw two such signs heading north on Deerfoot just after Peigan Trail, and saw two more when I was heading south at the end of Calf Robe bridge.

Larf!! Anyone else see more?

There's one southbound as you pass Airport Trail as well. I seem to recall that's been there for a while though.

Were they on the left or right side of the road? I can't imagine that the people in the right lane need to know that's the slow lane. They should have signs on the left saying "Get your slow ass to the right lane" with a picture of Sam L Jackson.

Sweet. Aboot time. Deerfoot should be driven like a highway. Because it basically is. It is our only road without lights. Act like it.

As for going 140, I'll admit that there are stretches of the road (specifically deep south and deep north) and times of day where that is safe, but certainly not anywhere between 130th and 64th. But 120 is fine. As long as the rest of ya stay out of my lane...

Just taking a wild guess here but when they say "slower moving traffic" I'm pretty sure they don't mean people going the speed limit. lol

If someone is travelling faster than you, your supposed to move over regardless if they are going faster than the speed limit.. Lets face it 90% of people driving on deerfoot are doing 100..

Personally, if you're in the left lane, I expect you to be going at least the speed limit. I know above that it "against the law", but I go 110 on Deerfoot, if you're in the left lane, and I'm coming up... you should move to the right lane and let me pass. It's up to me if I'm doing something illegal or not.

The left lane should be for passing, not going 100.

I think it is unsafe to be going 80 if everyone else is going 110
Go with the flow of traffic, that way you don't have morons weaving in and out of lanes like a maniac, and if you MUST go 80 then stay in the right lane.

That's a misprint, right? 90% of people on Deerfoot aren't doing 100. Of all the folks here that signed my death warrant in the last thread, I still think at least half of you are outright lying about doing the speed limit. I drive Deerfoot dozens of times a week (well, I moved a week ago so not that much anymore), but it is total BS that everyone just drives 100. Just a pile of crap.

Anything south of 130th or north of 64th, the average spped is well above 100. Then there's the straightaways between glenmore and calf robe and peigan and 17th, 8th underpass up to 16th and even beyond. On a clear day, people are going 110 - 120 in the center lane (see: me). And then people are still passing in the left lane.

I think alot of people are picturing rush hour traffic when they call me out for admitting that I speed on Deerfoot. Of course you can't go that fast during those times. But for the rest of you who, like me, could be on Deerfoot at any given time of day or night, quit trying to tell me that it's only safe to go 100 and therefore, you can go that speed in the left lane. Especially if you're driving beside someone in the middle lane going the same speed. If you do that, you're an ignorant a-hole that needs to remove your head from your butt and stop thinking you're a cop.

I'm not saying that's me, just looking at it from the perspective of the law. If you take it any other way then you're believing they are saying it's okay to speed.

And don't worry Protto, I'm not blocking you in the left lane. It's a funny thing but my car refuses to let me go anything less than 10km's over the speed limit unless we're in a school/playground zone, then it obeys, lol.
