Question Dishwasher Repair?

Does anyone know of a great appliance repair place?

I need to have my dishwasher repaired. It's an expensive Blomberg (lot of good that did me!), so I'd like to attempt a repair before replacement.

Tonight, it stopped filling with water... the pump goes, but no water of consequence pumps in. I expect my mineral heavy well water and its' scaling have plugged up the inlet or pump.

If anyone has had a great experience with a repair shop, please let me know, before I resort to google in the morning.

Thanks!

Can you soak said pump in some CLR overnight? Remove the water hose and draw some CLR in?

I'm guessing it is the inlet valve all plugged up, since it has power and tries to fill.... probably I'll have to take it all apart and see, and as you mention, try cleaning it or find a replacement. I was just hoping for a repair service because I'm way to busy right now ....

Whoa, I ran into the exact same problem today. Do you think it might be weather related?

My dishwasher just broke too. Fills with water, but then doesn't do anything with it.

I've used this guy quite a few times, I think he's great.

Once he even made an electronics part from scratch for me to fix a fridge where the part wasn't available.

Thanks for the contact. I did call them today, and they were able to schedule a service appointment in within 24 hours, which I think is decent.

However, I became impatient and starting ripping apart the dishwasher myself this evening. I tested the inlet solenoid, then the inlet valve, and both were working properly. So, I continued following the water route, took off the side panel, and found some sort of water exchanger for the built in water softener. The tracks/paths in that thing were completely clogged with calcium and lime build up from my well water. It took a few hours, and a jug of CLR, but I have gotten the exchanger pretty clean. I've put it back together, and wowser, the dishwasher works as good as new again! Yay!

I mentioned to the booking lady at Appliance Doctor that I may look at dishwasher myself before the repair person came. They were even nice enough to say I can cancel if I call them first thing in the morning in the event I fixed it - I suspect they think I would be unsuccessful.

Anyway, based on the phone conversation, and booking, I think that Appliance Doctor would be a good place to call for appliance repair, and I will try them one day.
