KKK and Aryan society... I had no idea how truly scary they are

As research for my classes in American history I chose to write an essay talking about the effects of Christian extremism on the justice system. I went off track and found the websites for the KKK and the Aryan society. It seems so hard to believe how delusional they are TODAY!!!


they have sayings like "warning, its dangerous to be right when the government is wrong'

Stormfront is a massive "White Nationalist Community" forum. It's like another planet. I know a couple of people(let me stress that they are not my friends, nor do I associate with them, I just know them) that are involved with the Aryan nation. It's extremely disturbing to hear them speak, especially when they talk about the lengths they are willing to go to.

Are these guys really to be taken seriously anymore? I mean, most of these groups seem to be made up of useless uneducated unemployed youngsters who are jaded that opportunities aren't handed to them. I think most of the population sees through this garbage these days, and I think the power of these organizations is dwindling fast. At least I hope so. I just remember seeing something on the news a couple months ago, where some of these guys had a protest in Calgary and normal citizens all stood up to them. It was nice too see.

I went to that website too (easy to find as well) it was BY FAR the worst. They actually had a forum on black hockey players. Truly idiotic and ignorant

Why does Hockey lack colored athletes?

I beleive personally, that this is because it requires skill and grace, rather than brute force, like many other sports, Hockey is pure

Shakira, you cant let it bother you. There are extremists and idiots of every race, religional and nationality. These people have no power. Just think of what bitter, horrible lives they must lead, spending all that time hating people. Think of all the wonderful thing they are missing. Feel sorry for them.

I've also visited this forum. The most disturbing part is that they try and pass off hatred and racism as "pride in being white". They are not attacking minorities they are defending the white race (whatever that means). It's okay that some don't want to kill blacks, just basically lock them into their own country or send them back to Africa. Bottom line, these groups have been marginalized and while they might gain new members, they're not the force that they were in the 40's or 50's.

They don't have the power with law enforcement that they used to, and they don't have the backings of whole communities anymore.

Their right to free speech and to congregate is protected, but words shouldn't hurt anyone anymore.

The worst thing that anyone can do is give them validity, beat them up, respond to them or engage them in debate.

"Laughable" isn't really the word, and I know they probably shouldn't be ignored, but I don't think they can be considered a threat to society as a whole. Sure they are likely capable (and do) carry out crimes, but for all the bluster and ######ed race crap, they ain't much.

My only exposure to these people is through documentaries and the occasional newspaper article, but far as I can tell even if someone is considered "powerful" or "influential" inside the movement, they still aren't anything more than some (compared to his friends) well-spoken and charismatic jackoff with a following of a few dozen confused/bored/forgotten/sad young men.

These people couldn't organize a drunk in a brewery.

I'm not so sure that they are so influential. Obviously not in mainstream politics, but let's not forget that these racist groups aren't just a throwback to the 40s and 50s.

William Pierce, a Neo-Nazi and founder of the ultra-racist Heritage Front, wrote a book called the Turner Diaries. The book details a very violent race war in the United States. It was never picked up by a publisher, until recently for educational purposes. However, it is estimated that book may have sold over half a million copies at gun shows and the like.

Timothy McVeigh apparently used the book as his inspiration in the attack on Oklahoma City.

These guys may not be powerful in the political sense, but they do occupy a reasonably large niche in the underbelly of America and Canada to a lesser degree.
