Default CP Traffic?

Site Stats
Avg. Traffic Rank: 155423
Online since: 2000-02- 2

What does 155423 mean?

How many hits does CP get each day?

Where's this from?

A traffic rank sounds like it's just a comparison with other sites, so in their list of sites we're # 115,423rd in terms of traffic.

As for hits, we get a lot I added a few features to the front page of the forum a while ago actually and was surprised no one noticed them.. it shows the # of members that have visited and the # of guests that have visited within the last 24 hours. They show up right below the display of currently active users.

Hits is kind of a meaningless stat for forums, since people are constantly clicking on the site, but I like that list of # of unique visitors.

I have a Megaupload toolbar so that I can use their happy hour feature....and it gives me the option of looking at the info for each site I visit.

It doesn't say who the owner is....just says CalgaryPuck, but I know Bingo owns the site, and it gives his address, and phone number. Not sure if that was supposed to be kept private or not.

Then it gives me the traffic rank for each site....gmail is #2...still haven't found #1...Google is #4....and CP is 155423 like I pointed out in the first post.

Just a bit of useless information.

Though I am really curious what #1 would be. Any ideas?

Yeah the DNS registrar is supposed to have the correct information for whoever owns the DNS, it's illegal (I think) to withhold that info.

Yahoo #1 maybe?

Isn't there an option do shield the name from public DNS lookups?

According to Alexa, Yahoo.com is #1. I would have thought Google, but perhaps it is distinguishing the difference between Google.com, .ca, .uk, and so on.

I think you can shield the email address, but not sure about the name. At least you can't for .ca domains, not sure about .com ones actually.

Yeah, yahoo.com is #1.

A few sites have the information shielded.

Says unknown for all the contact info.

I wonder if 'whois' would find the same thing.

You can prevent the whois/domain reg info from becoming public. I can't remember the term though. Shoot. If I find it, I'll come back.

edit: Appears CP is registered through networksolutions, so here's the link. http://www.networksolutions.com/doma...on/private.jsp

Noticed that a couple weeks ago. I actually check that almost daily (for no other reason than I'm a freak).

On a not-really-related-but-still-in-the-same-ball-park note, when a thread shows how many people viewed it, is that including guests or is that just members (people logged on)?

I'm pretty sure it includes guests as well; basically a count of how many times the thread has been clicked on
