Question Rexall Place

Hi folks. Just a quick question for those familiar with Rexall. (ick, lol) I have tickets for the Flames game coming up in a couple weeks, and I have my choice of tickets... which option is better for the money?

Section 211 row 30 ~$110
or
Section 227 standing ~$50

Row 30 seems awfully high but I know the layout there is different from the Saddledome. I wouldn't mind paying the extra cash if the seats are decent. I need to be in a good seat where I can cheer my head off for the Flames.

I haven't had bad seats in Rexall yet (other than the fact that they're in Rexall and it smells like Oiler Fan). The sightlines are great. Since they don't have a section like the Ultimate Fan Zone or Sportchek zone, you won't be up really high no matter what seats you get. Anywhere on the Terrace - I think it's called - is great.

Row 30 is about halfway up in the second level. Pretty good seats. Standing area is the top of the second level. And are pretty good if you don't mind standing. I'd go with the seats myself as I hate standing the whole game.

Row 30 would be fine.

With that said, I love standing room tickets. A lot of fun if you go with a group of friends.

I've been to Rexall hundreds of times. Definately go with the Section 211 seats. You're a Flames fan and those seats will be right behind Roloson for 2 periods (Flames will attack twice - 1st and 3rd). Not to mention the view is great from those seats. Section 227 is right behind Kiprusoff for 2 periods (1st and 3rd) and obviously are standing. I hate standing at hockey games and Section 211 is definately the better buy then 227.

Every time i head to a flames game in rexall, the seats are good, there is not a bad seat in there.....'cept maybe the standers with no railing to lean on, and the asbestos filled insulation right behind them...personal fav, talked a scalper into 40$ for a ticket, and sat in the 4th row....it was when the oilers sucked last year (at the end of the season....i mean, like, when they really sucked), so no season ticket holders showed up, it was great.

Just be careful. Two large guys might direct you to a small room in the basement for a discussion

Just like in the Dome, the farther up you go, the worse the fans get, especially if you are wearing the wrong colours in a BOA game.

That said, I would personally go with the standing room tix, simply because that arena is so horribly cramped it isn't funny. I'm 5'9" and I always feel squished. I can't imagine how anyone > 6' handles it.

So the rich oil exec and his colagen wife in the lower bowl is the best fan?? Personally, I think the farther up you go, the more likelyhood you will find truer fans (although yes, you will also find more inebriated ones as well).

I think you took his post way out of context, T5.

How often do you see fights between opposing fans in the bleeds? in the 200's? Now how about in the executive section? (How about never.)

That's what he was getting at.

The second level is where you find the best fans. The rafters are for the underage teen drinkers and trouble starting ######bags who don't give two poops about hockey. I cannot stand watching a game from up there and no true fan would would either.

I do agree the second level is my favourite as well. True fan or not though, it's not that easy buying tickets in a lot of those sections these days though...atleast if you have a stingy budget.

Gee, I guess that means that me and my 4 buddies with season tickets in the nosebleeds for the last 6-7 years aren't really true fans. Too bad, I always thought I was a pretty good fan, but turns out that since I want to go to every game instead of 7 for the same price, that I'm just a bandwagoner or something.

I will let you contemplate the context of what I was saying and try again.

personally, i love standing at rexall...there's nobody big in your way, you can walk around really easily...no bumping into everybody when you want to get up. and one of the best things....you can actually hear the action on the ice. it's great. i'd recommend standing over sitting

i went to 2 games last year at Rexall, both times up in the 300's and didn't have a single issue. hell for the 2nd game i think the Flames fans outnumbered the Oiler fans in our section (had one Oiler fan comment behind me to his wife "Did we sit in the Calgary section?"). i wouldn't have taken any other seats as the comradery with the other Flames fans was awesome

Are you in the first three rows or in the Sportscheck/Ultimate Fan Zone area? My comments are directed at the latter and I stand by them.

You cannot possibly watch a game from there. It's more of a frat party. Every time I've been up there I've witnessed at least 10 people get escorted out for underage drinking. A fight is inevitable and so is the drunken moron who tries to slide down the railing and ends up falling on some poor kid.

But, my favorite seats are actually the front row of the nosebleeds. But thanks for assuming that I somehow was passing judgment on you. Wow, people on message boards get sensitive.

And seriously, a rep hit? Trigger happy mods it seems.
