Ill care. It's too bad that suspicion has never gone any further - one way or another. There's a cloud over him and others with equal evidence to support suspicion or have been caught, skate by.
The guy is one of the best baseball players ever... before or after the 73 season. He's a jerk and people dont like him, but so was Ted Williams and Ty Cobb and theyre recognized as all-time greats.
Ecko is an idiot with the asterisk. I wonder how his clothing line sales increased because of this publicity stunt.
All that being said, I think in 5 years, if Bonds gets in, he'll go to the induction for his kids, his godfather and in dedication for his father. I just hope he gets the chance.

I hope he boycotts the Hall. No need for him to be in if they are going to keep other suspected users out. Saying that it is questionable that he used anything is being very kind to Bonds.
He is a cheater, a jerk and deserves any negativeity that comes his way and anything that keeps him out of the HOF is good for baseball and its fans.

Bonds is a bad human being, anything that doesn't go in his favor is ok by me.
I'm looking forward to the steriods investigation becomming public in the new year.
However he's already admitted to taking steriods, the bizzare thing though is that even though that is illegal, it's wasn't against the rules of the game. Therefore he may boycott the HOF, but I'm not sure people can't vote against him as a candidate. It's an interesting issue, but I don't know if he broke any MLB rules so people can say his HR record is aided, but not illegally.

I find it interesting when people say that bonds didn't cheat because there was no rule banning steroids in MLB at the time. Does MLB have rules that your not allowed to rob other players, coaches or fans at gun point? If you beat an opponent to death with a baseball bat will that get you banned? Or is that not agaisnt the rules?
If steroids are illegal. It should be assumed that they are illegal to use in MLB as well. Maybe I'm the idiot and everything needs to be spelled out in black and white so there is no misunderstanding of what is allowed or disallowed in MLB.

I get your point but I'd say that beating someone down with a bat is different than juicing up.
Through massive neglect MLB turned a blind eye to steroids. Weather they ignored it on purpose because chicks dig the long ball and all those HR's are good for business, or because they are simply baboons running a major sport I don't know, but either way they said that there is nothing wrong with juicing up. Therefore steriods were within the rules of the game.
Now as for respecting the laws of society, If a obvious HOFer was convicted of murder does that stop him from being voted into the HOF? I don't know, the HOF isn't about if your a swell guy or not. But even if you say he shouldn't then what if that same person wasn't convicted of murder but rather was a serial jaywalker. Then what? Clearly there is a line somewhere in between the two, and everyone will have a different interpretation of which side of that line steriods are on. I don't know if the press and existing members of the HOF need to become moral judges and give us their own personal views on morals and use that as a basis to vote someone into the hall.

Whether or not he did steroids, that stupid fashion guy has no right to destroy something that is that important. When Bonds was hitting 73 HR's, Roids were not illegal. He's tested clean every time he's been tested. Did he do them, definitely. However, it was a major accomplishment nonetheless and it does not need to be destroyed (by burning the asterisk on it, I consider it destroyed)

It's his...he can do whatever he likes with it. The fact he allowed the fans to decide what happened to the ball says all you need to know about him.
Fans dont like the guy, fans know he is a liar and a cheater, and fans are the ones who matter here...not Barry bonds.

Steroids have been illegal for a LONG time without prescription by a doctor, baseball just didnt test for them or have a policy towards those using them until recently.
he cheated, its just that simple. Because others did as well does not exonerate him.

Well, then if you're going to single out this one thing, then you have to include everything that's happened since McGwire and Canseco came into the league. World Series Championships, Cal Ripken's iron man streak, everything. Everything gets the asterisk because they may or may not have taken roids (some more likely than others)

Why? Lots of guys cheated, but certainly just as many more did not.
Cal ripken? You have to be kidding me. Bonds did steroids...we know that. The issue is whether or not HE knew he was taking them or not...which he did, but has stated he didn't. That makes him a liar as well as a cheater.
He stated he thought it was flaxseed oil or some other inane excuse. Just ridiculous.
here is an article about what Bonds told the grand jury. So either he is the worlds stupidest human being or he lied....I will let Bonds defenders decide which it is.
Quote:
Barry Bonds testified to a grand jury that he used a clear substance and a cream given to him by a trainer who was indicted in a steroid-distribution ring, but said he didn't know they were steroids, the San Francisco Chronicle reported Friday.
Bonds told a U.S. grand jury that he used undetectable steroids known as "the cream" and "the clear," which he received from personal trainer Greg Anderson during the 2003 season. According to Bonds, the trainer told him the substances were the nutritional supplement flaxseed oil and a pain-relieving balm for the player's arthritis.
