Default Bottlescrew Bills...how well traveled are you?

I've heard of the place before but just recently I've managed to convince myself to go down and start a passport. Anyone here doing, have triumphed, or failed? 80 beers in one year isn't too hard, it's just gettin to drink them. Talking to the waitress they throw a ton failed passports out weekly as their term expire.

Last visit looked at the plaques and found that in 88 one Al Strachan finished his passport. Made me wonder if it was the real crazy Al.

Currently I'm at #16 with ten months to go...I like my odds.

I think the toughest part about getting all the way through is the avialability of some of the rare beers. Back when I tried to rack up the numbers there were a few that were always 'out of stock.'

I've thought about this before, and I havent really read all the requirements, but I totally think I could do it. There are definately going to be some beers I dont like, but if I only have to drink one I think I can handle that.

Around the World in 80 Beers is something I'll have to do before I die...that is, if its not the alcohol thats killing me...

Looking at one year there was one guy that finished three passports in one year. The guy must have lived above the place because that is just rediculous.

Yeah maybe.

We figured that one run through costs about $600. Almost 2 grand is a l ot to pay for 3 free beer, 3 free apps, 3 beerstiens, 3 jackets and your name on a plaque 3 times.

Although considering how long they have been around and they only get around 50-75 people a year it is quite a feat.

It's not a case of whether i could physically drink all 80 beers (Even the ones that taste like snot), nor a question of whether or not I spend $600 on beer at bars in a year (I probably exceed that in the thousands) It's really a question of whether or not you're comitted to making the trip out to that particular bar over half the times you go drinking. I don't live anywhere near there and I don't get to choose the bar every week when the work buddies and I have a couple pints on a Thursday or Friday.

I did this back in the late 90's, right after I turned 18. It took my friends and I the better part of a year to get around the world. That big corner booth was 'our' booth while we were doing it and, to this day, whenever I go back to town we invariably end up at the screw for a couple of nights. Great bar, great beers.

Good ol Bottlescrew Bills. I remember I had a bday party start there, and my bro bought me a bottle of 9 percent beer. Not bad tasting considering its hooch content.
