Default Dishwasher is leaking (repairman/place recommendations)

Well I've got a leak somewhere beneath my dishwasher. I've inspected and been able to make sure that it's not something simple like a hose not being attached properly, or the door seal failing. It only leaks when it drains out so I'm assuming it's a seal underneath somewhere... and that's about the extent of my dishwasher knowledge.

Anybody had any luck with certain places around town? I'm in the SE (MacKenzie) and it's a Concept II dishwasher. I called Trail Appliances and they only do service calls on their own product, nothing else... also the last place I called said "Yeah we can send out a repair guy, how does 2008 look for you?".

So help me Calgarypuck, I'm getting dish soap hands!!!

I had the same problem but it was my door seal, I just replaced the whole thing since it's not really worth the effort to fix up a 10 year old dishwasher, given my new one is only $500. Maybe replacement could be an option for you? You're probably looking at $200+ even if you find someone to come out and fix it.

If your dishwasher is leaking- you are probably giving your wife too much to drink.

Seriously, IIRC Concept II was GE's entry level model in the 90's. So as Incinerator pointed out, it may be smarter to replace it rather than getting it repaired.

If you are going the replace route, and want a contact at the Brick's comercial sales dept, fire me off a PM. He can probably get you a few bucks off a new one; or sometimes with dishwashers they have "builder" models that are scaled back but do the basic job.

Incinerator, that's not what I want to hear.

Although, with your door seal, if it's just the gasket, that's like a $40 problem that you might have been able to fix yourself.. depending on the severity and all that.

well, I was thinking about "modernizing" all my appliances anyways, so it was just an convenient excuse for me to start doing it, I have since gotten a new fridge and stove.

But yeah like ken said, go to the Brick's commercial sales and they'll save you a few bucks off most retails out there. I've seen dishwashers as cheap as $250 at Futureshop sales but you might wanna go for something a bit more up the chain.
