LF: Autodetailer and Undercoater
First, sorry to those that frequent the CP Power Ring forum; I posted the exact same thing there. I am guess that most people dont look there because there were only 36 views in over a week.
Anyone have any suggestions for what detailer to use or where to get a good undercoat job done?
I am super picky, and even though my cars are daily drivers, I want the attention paid to them that an exotic sports car would get. That is how I treat them, and I expect nothing less of someone else that does work on them.
I need an older car clayed, polished, and sealed and its interior entirely cleaned. I need a brand new Legacy GT wagon clayed (sat outside at dealer lot for 4 months), polished and sealed. The Legacy is what I want undercoated too.
I'd like to do it myself, but I just dont have the time.
Can anyone suggest great shops here in Calgary? Perhaps, there are some car enthuisasts you know that do this themselves and have their garage set up for it? Maybe they would like to do a side job on the weekend?
Thanks in advance!

Jed is the guy who does the detailing. He only cleaned the interior of my WRX wagon, but it looked better than the day I drove out of the dealership. His rates are reasonable. Highly recommended.
Good Luck.
P.S... Excellent choice on the Legacy GT.

I see that Mobile Reflections is a Mobile shop. Are they so small that it is one person? That might be just the quality I am looking for.
Has anyone else used them? Any other suggestions to check out?

I have some scratches on my bumper, would this guy be able to buff them out/do anything for a decent price?

Is there a Mings in Calgary? Amazing reputation here. I'm taking my car tomorrow for a exterior detailing that they say is a lifetime wax. I'll let you know how it goes.

I'd be interested in hearing of some detailers as well. My car has several rock chips in the paint that are starting to show signs of rust. Figure I should get that fixed before winter shows up.

I think it's his own business, so he's the only one that runs the show. He brings his work supplies to your house, which is very convenient. When he did my car, I met him at my parents house and he did his thing. He called as I was coming home from work and I paid him.

I'm sure he can, so just give him a call and see what he charges. I'm sure it will be reasonable.

Don't think you'll be able to detail that out. If there's rust, you should just get that area repainted. I check my car every couple days to see if there's any new rock chips, and I'll apply a bit of touch up paint I got from the dealership. It's a good cheap fix.

I called Mobile Reflections, and made an appointment. Unfortunately, they are booking over 1 month in advance.
I was hoping to get the exterior detailed and protected before it snows. If anyone has had work done somewhere that they can recommend, let me know.

Check out the beyond.ca website. Local automotive forums. Someone there will know a good place for sure.

I did ... the tone is more of where not to go, rather than where to go. I have ruled out a few places by reading that forum, but have yet to find a place that everyone was satisfied at.

If you are in the south end, give Sammy at Mr Detail a call. The shop is great, his prices are very reasonable, and he guarantees you will drive away happy...Tell him Cody sent ya!!

I've now made an appointment for undercoating / rust proofing at Auto Protectors on Macleod for Wednesday. I havent heard anything good about them, but that is where Centaur Subaru sends all their cars. I figured that, if nothing else, at least they would be familiar with all the nooks and crannys of my car.
Has anyone been there before? Good? Bad?
This 'rust proofing' sounds like a oil based spray they spray in behind all the sheet metal with compressed air. Has anyone done this? Waste of time? Does it eventually ooze out making a mess at all the drain points?
