Girlfriend Gift Ideas?
Hey guys, thought I'd draw on the brain power of CP for this one.
I've been dating my girlfriend for about 5 months, and every month i get her a little something just to show her how happy i am to be with her.
Usually its been flowers, or a boardgame, or dinner, a nintendo DS game etc. I'm looking for another idea for something i could get her thats fairly cheap (<$50) but that is a lot of fun, or that she will love.
No jewlery please, i already got her a necklace for xmas.
We are both in university and early twenties, and i'm having a little bit of a mind blank on this one.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

You know what? i stated getting my GF little tiny white beanie baby things for each valentines day, and she really loves them, PLUS they arent disappearing any time soon. She's now got a little kitten, lamb, bunny, polar bear, etc. A gift a month would make it about $20, and you could get her a whole collection without worrying about what to get her next month... If she likes that stuff. My GF loves it.

how about a nice warm cup of fix me a sandwich
Seriously, send her out to a day trip to a spa or something. Get her a photoalbum filled with alternating pictures of your junk, and your jealous angry look.

You do know valentine's day is about a week away right? Bernard Callebaut always goes down well...
How is that for leaving an opening?

K so my valentines day gift last year was kind of sappy but chicks love this stuff...
I go to the university which has a massive library. When my girlfriend got off work I told her to talk to the ladies working at the checkout counter at the library and that I wouldn't pick up my phone if she called. I then hung up on her. When she got there the women working there had a rose and a clue to the next location for her. She did this little scavenger hunt among the books there that probably took her like 45 minutes looking up book names and quotes from different books. The last book had the location where I was waiting for her. I took her out to dinner at a nice Italian place.
Girls love the sentimental type gift and it only cost me an hour or so of my time plus the rose/dinner.

Dude, what are you thinking? You'e obviously set the bar pretty high (on a monthly basis no less) and the one time you don't buy her something she's going to think you're cheating on her.
yeeesh. Set the bar low......that way she doesn't expect anything, and the one time you do something you're a hero for at least another 8-10 months.

Getting her something every month was a big mistake. A few times a year is hard enough.
Most girls like orignal things. If you have any creative skills, try and make her something. She'll love that.

Wow.. Talk about setting the bar high. You are gonna get burned out by the one year mark. Not to mention broke. Cool Idea for a thread though... if we get some good suggestions we should sticky it.
Lulu Lemon pants, she will love them and so will you, and any other guy walking behind her.. might be about $20-$30 out of your price range though.
You could get her a gold fish, and tank, etc.
I got my g/f a teddy bear that was wearing a t-shirt with our picture on in it.. and a short message on the back
She got me a puzzle that when you put it together it makes our picture.. those are kind of cheezy but are good for valentines days/random events
You can get them at stores that put pictures on mugs and stuff. I think you can even get a doll made with your picture over the face, thats creepy though.

Abe, you're a real Romeo. I can recall her doing a similar thing to you for your birthday...you called me and bitched about how stupid it was lol. Not saying she didn't like it, I'm sure she put out that night.

You are both in Uni and in your early 20s and you are buying MONTHLY presents?!?!
I gotta agree with the others who say you are setting the bar WAAAAAAYYYY too high. This can only end in disaster.
Cook her dinner, open some wine, give her a foot-rub, presto...

Haha, normally i cook her dinner..or some months she cooks me dinner or takes me out. It usually pretty even, just something fun we do.
I just wanted to move beyond the generic thing to something maybe that i could throw into with a valentines gift.
Keep in mind most months its like a 10$ bouquet of flowers or something. I'm not going all out.
All you guys are just slackers.

That's right, Finner, you don't listen to these guys. You sound like one of the good ones, so you keep showing your girlfriend that you appreciate her in any way that you would like!

Does she live on her own? With you? etc.......
Make her a tape of romantic songs that you both listen to and have meaning (if you guys don't have any or alot, then make some that you think she would like and would have meaning), put it in a box along with a card and then go to La Senza and get her lingerie. Tell her on the card that she's special and means so much to you and you couldn't ask for anything more in a gf and you are looking forward to seeing her that night. Drop the package in her mailbox when she isn't home so it's waiting for her when she gets there. You'll hear back from her within minutes of when she gets it.
