Default Tiger Woods: Path to One Billion Dollars

http://sports.yahoo.com/golf/pga/new...yhoo&type=lgns

Quote:
If Woods keeps winning at his current rate, enjoys a nine percent annual return and captures just seven FedEx Cups in his career, he could reach $1 billion in retirement payouts courtesy of the PGA Tour Inc.
Yes, a billion. As in a thousand million. As in $1,000,000,000.
Quote:
Since turning pro at 21, Woods has been collecting the contributions and watching them grow. Back in 2001, Golf Week estimated he might one day retire with $300 million. But with the new FedEx Cup funded deferred compensation plan, what was an astounding figure might now be the richest retirement payout ever.
That is just crazy, to think you have a possible $1,000,000,000 waiting for you when you retire after making god only knows how much up to that point.

Slow day in sports and thought it was interesting that the PGA was doing something like this.

Dont forget that he'll be getting this 1 billion dollars while dominating the Champions TOUR in 20 years!

Unreal. $1,000,000,000 plus everything he makes on the side.

I cant really see him playing in the Champions league years from now. Once he passes his prime, knocks off Nicklaus' major wins record and officially shuts up anyone who doesnt think he's the greatest golfer ever to live, I see Tiger being content with playing the 4 majors and his favorite 2 tournaments during the season (The Buick, for example).

Tiger is so diverse in his interests, once he's no longer able to be the best player on the course every tournament, he'll direct his attention elsewhere - building golf courses, resorts, making bugillions, etc...

I think this too. If he can't play to win every week, he wont play at all. Winning is in this guys blood to a point where he would become to frustrated if he wasn't.

He'll become more heavily involved in philanthropy. My guess would be a global scale of his Tiger Woods Foundation.
