Default Shaw digital phone

Does anyone know if shaw digital phone lite has free calling within Canada

I heared that SHaw has a triple play discount for students, that includes phone internet and cable. Anyone have any more info on it?

I have never heard anything like that unless it is new, having worked for Bell for 3 years I would have heard something about that. However I could be wrong and probably was told but wasn't listening

Shaw always has a student promo at the end of summer, prices vary but it always involves for paying 8 months worth of services up front. the end deal though is pretty significant, just looking through the prices listed in that redflagdeals thread they rival the employee discount

No. Pretty much the whole point of the lite is no free long distance. So calls within Canada and the US are 4¢ per minute, and that is billed by the second.

On a regular lite plan there are also no extra fees, so the $30 covers everything; unlike Telus who wanted $7 per month to give me 10¢ per minute long distance.

There's also a new thing so you can use your Shaw plan like a calling card and get the 4¢ per minute long distance onto your cell phone. They sent me an email yesterday, so I don't have it here at work right now.

Edit- found the prepaid thingy. http://www.shaw.ca/en-ca/ProductsSer...aidCalling.htm

If it's up front how do you pay long distance charges

OK, ignore the pre-paid thingy as that's just adding confusion.

With Shaw phone lite you pay 4¢ per minute for long distance. Shows up on your bill just like with any other phone bill.

Sorry for bumping this thread....but it says you have to do it instore and show student id, where would you go to do it instore? As far as I know there's only 2 or 3 Shaw Offices in Calgary but it seems kinda wierd to actually go to the Shaw Office to just get internet/tv/phone. Am I missing something here?

Just walk into the Shaw building and the customer service desk is immediately to your left. The building's at 3 Ave SW & 6 St SW downtown.

or you can go to the one on 32 Ave NE & Barlow Tr
