Default Anyone done their passport recently?

Just curious if anyone has been down to that passport office near Shawnessey (Shawnessey Station is the name of the stip mall it's in I think) and what kind of wait times you had at the office. G/F and I are trying to get ours done prior to taking a trip in November and just wondering if the wait times in the offices are as bad as they have been for the past little while.

From what I've heard, the time it takes to get mailed out to you is pretty short these days (couple weeks) but just want to know about how much time I should take off to deal with the office side?

I dropped off my application in late July at the Service Canada Ctr on Crowchild trail and the whole process took only 40 minutes...it might be longer if you go to Harry Hays...

Hope that helps...

My wife and I both did ours about a 6 weeks ago in Edmonton. Sign up for the online E-pass first before you go to the office. Both of us waiting for about 3 hours before we were able to get through at the busiest office in Edmonton. After that we were about 12 bussiness days until the Passports showed up at our house. In the case of my wife she had the Epass and showed up at 10 AM and waited the same amount of time I did by showing up a 7:30....I think if you have the Epass thing and you go later in the day you'll wait to get your number to be processed but will get processed quicker. I didn't wait too long in the line to get my number, but since I was there first thing they had that initial backlog of people to process before I got through. Had I shown up 2 hours later...I don't think I would have waited any longer.

Be sure to fill out the forms on the internet.. I did my application in March just before heading to Vegas in May. Once I made it through the line up outside the south calgary passport office, I was in and out in less than 5 minutes... People who came with forms filled out by hand probably waited ten times longer than I did.. The biggest problem I found with the entire process was setting the printer to print the epass application. For whatever reason 90% of printers seem to have difficulties with the page setup that is required.

You wouldn't happen to have that link readily available, would you? My wife needs a new passport.
