Ya, the local stuff is solid. Tim Williams, High Water Jug Band, Mike Clark ... all pretty good. I didn't notice John Rutherford or Amos Garrett listed though ... too bad. Especially too bad if Rutherford isn't there. Outside of the local acts though it's kind of an uninspiring list. I particularly don't care for their headliners. They even got the wrong Winters brother! Johnny runs circles around Edgar IMO.

Sigh ... yes, that is a Bluesfest. Anyone who thinks Calgary has a vibrant arts scene needs to compare the lineup between the two festivals. Although, to be fair, Ottawa is cheating by expanding the envelope a bit ... Manu Chao is world music, not blues. Just kidding ... but that's the best defense I can come up with for the Calgary Blues Fest.
