My Vote would go to Kerry. Although I can honestly see why people would vote for Bush, it is just not for me. I think the "Scare" tactic has been over played, and I believe that Bush has done more harm than good while in office, especially when dealing with the war in Iraq, which I separate from the war on Terroism. (And I do believe Saddam was a Terrorist).

I voted Kerry. Although I really don't see there being much change either way.

Anyone have stats on Canadian's average preferences? Might be interesting to see how Calpuckers vote as oposed to the 'average' Canadian.

I voted Kerry as well. I'm from a family of Yellow-Dog Democrats.

Well I would venture a guess that CP'ers being mostly from Alberta are fairly conservative. However our conservative views are still on about Kerry's level. Canada is much more liberal and probably would rather have someone in power more liberal than Kerry.... I see the spectrum like this

Bush---------------------------------Kerry/Harper-----------------------------------Martin

Kerry, I've debated this to myself a lot, but I just think he'd take the time to think things through, and I don't think Bush has done or does do that.

One poll had Canadians favouring Kerry 61% to 16% with the rest undecided.

I've been considering voting for my dad, that's how enthused I am about my choices.

As someone once pointed out very astutlely though, my vote won't matter much in the grand scheme. I'm not in a battleground state.

Dis I was wondering that! So do you think voting may only actually be up in the Swing States, and do those not usually have pretty high turnouts already

Lol, it doesn't look like those voting Bush are to eager about openly admiting it...

Kerry obviously.

As for not being in a battleground state, I know what your saying DFF, but I still think it's important to vote. Be part of the process, I've dragged myself to polls knowing my vote wouldn't swing it (or would just be another to the vast majority) and I agree with your 'voting for dad' comment, I voted for myself in one provincial election because I so loved the choices we had.

But I still voted.

If we all took more interest in the process (Canadian's are on the heels of American's for voter apathy) We would get more of a true representation of the numbers. Perhaps more states WOULD be battleground states.

On an interesting side not to my above thought, maybe it's the media's obsession with polling that is just as much to blame as poor candidates or simple voter apathy for poor voter turnout. I wonder what the voter numbers would be like if there were no polls leading up to the election...

Pretty much exactly how I feel as well.

Is it just me, but with these two most recent elections (Canada & U.S.), does anyone else out there feel that we are just voting for the "best of the worst" instead of someone we truly respect and admire?

I mean, tomorrow will decide who is the most powerful person in the world.

Between Bush and Kerry? Yikes..........

I voted for the only available "Anybody but Bush" candidate available.

If it is Bush though, I hope he wins big. I'm sick of the constant bickering (much of which I'm in the middle of) and just want to get this whole mess over with.

Say what you want about the results of Canadian elections, but we get them over with quickly. Like a bandaid: RIGHT OFF!!!!

Tough one, but I think I would vote for neither. With a gun to my head I might vote Kerry, but it would be a real toss up.

Kerry is more of a protectionist in his policies, which is bad for Canada. Bush is bad for the North American image (like it or not people see Canada=USA) and seeing as I travel a lot I don't much like being hissed at in Europe or sworn at in Korean.

Tough one indeed.

I don't know, I think the turnout will be high everywhere. I don't think most voters actually think about it the way I described above.

and Daradon, don't get me wrong....I'm voting no matter what. It's important. Besides, there are lots of important local races and a Senator to try and oust....and a Congressman to support.

There is one thing I have no doubt about though, my Dad is a better man than either candidate.
