Default Protest The Hero - Fortress

ok the year is less than a month old, but when this album comes out on the 29th i'm pretty confident it'll be a sure shot for album of the year. even if you're not normally a fan of heavy music, i've seen lots of people who still get hooked on these guys. and even though i have it on my PC right now, i'll definitely be ponying up the dough for this one because it's just that good. if you haven't seen it yet, here's a video for their first single, Bloodmeat

not bad for a bunch of Canadian kids

Yeah I don't usually like that kind of stuff, but that song was pretty bad ass. Rage Against The Machine and Rise Against are usually the heaviest I go.

Wow.

I'd never heard of these guys before, but the sound is pretty cool. Some reminiscence of old-school heavy metal with the arpeggio-laden guitar riffs and minor-key vocal harmonies.

I will definately be checking this out. Thanks for that.

Wow...not my cup of tea.

Just because dudes can shred (see any metal fan at local guitar store) doesn't mean they can make music. It doesn't account for melody and hooks. The vocals are typical generic screamo, and annoying as hell. The only credit I'll give it is the drumming sounded really good. I'll have to respectfully disagree with you on these guys.
